Writing Guidelines for Contributors

We welcome pieces that help young readers take their first steps into philosophy. To keep articles clear, engaging and easy to follow, please keep the following guidelines in mind.

  1. Length and Structure
    • Aim for 700–2000 words.
    • Use short sections, headings, or smooth transitions to guide readers from one idea to the next.
    • A clear structure helps younger readers follow the argument without getting lost.
  2. Keep It Accessible
    • Explain philosophical ideas in simple, direct language.
    • Use everyday examples that readers can relate to.
    • Feel free to simplify gently, but keep the heart of the idea intact.
  3. Use an Inviting Tone
    • Write in a warm, conversational style.
    • Personal anecdotes, small emotional touches or references from pop culture are welcome when they help make the idea more vivid.
    • Our goal is to make philosophy feel approachable, not distant or overly technical.
  4. Focus on One Clear Theme
    • Centre your piece on one main concept, question or theme.
    • Ideally, choose something connected to your own interests or current work, so your enthusiasm comes through.
    • A focused article helps spark curiosity and encourages readers to explore further.
